Amazing Grace

Ok I'm a total geek for posting this but I still have my head in the stratosphere! By some divine miracle I was granted a free ticket to Radiohead's first night in NY on their new tour.
For total freakers - here's the playlist from tonight.

I'm still kinda speechless. So many bands and for that matter artists, are put to shame by these guys. This is what art should feel like, all components working dutifully together - mind, body and grace. Yes Grace! Totally lucid, visceral and borderline angelic. Awesome.

wow, good for you! I am one of the freakers you mention. THANKS FOR LINKING THE PLAYLIST!!! I have seen them 3 times now and will be heading to see them again on the 23rd. I am a junkie. As good (euphoric) as they are on headphones, they are orgasmic live. And no one, no critic or corporate label, can touch them. Perhaps one of my biggest fears in life is that Radiohead will stop making music someday.

G - you're in for a treat. They played at Madison Square Theater which is a small venue. It was AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. They played a bunch of new songs - most were pretty damn good. A little stripped down but some very good ones. I really was transported -
ephiphanies about my work, dreams, flashbacks, all kinds of mental movement. There were actually 3 encores. My loan regret was I failed to bring a camera.

yooo... i know what you mean, it's why i go to their shows really. They always give me some epiphany about my work. There's something about their freedom, or the way they allow themselves to explore the dark corners without judgement. I always leave with this feeling that it is okay to make that thing i've been thinking about, and here's how i should make it...

But moreover, i think they remind us what you and james have been talking about... that poetry is essential. And we are the makers of metaphors. We create and speak the language that actually moves beyond senses and lets us know that there is a commonality... the way we can go to this show and fragments of memories will come to us...

Anyway, I always leave with the same thought... "poetry... don't forget... poetry"
